ABSTRACT, This vegetation map gives a basic overview of dominant vegetative communities in Iceland. Where vegetation coverage is more than 50%\, the dominant vegetative community is shown. In areas where vegetation coverage is 50% or less\, the type of land is indicated (i.e.\, sand\, lava or gravel). The map is based on vegetation maps\, satellite images\, aerial photographs and a map of birch woods and scrubland. However the coarse resolution might not be suitable for the Hekluskogar area. ~~
