Where vegetation coverage is more than 50%\\, the dominant vegetative community is shown. In areas where vegetation coverage is 50% or less\\, the type of land is indicated (i.e.\\, sand\\, lava or gravel). The map is based on vegetation maps\\, satellite images\\, aerial photographs and a map of birch woods and scrubland. However the coarse resolution might not be suitable for the Hekluskogar area. ~~
